In this class, we will focus on increasing flexibility and energy, reducing stress, and will develop skills to encourage a yogic lifestyle. We will take time to experience the more subtle aspects of yoga including bandhas (energy locks), pranayama (control of life-force energy using breath), pratyahara (sensory withdrawal), meditation (prolonged concentration), and mindfulness practices. This exploration into the physical body, the breath, and the subtle bodies can deepen your yogic experience and will encourage a therapeutic relationship with your practice. Each class will open with an introspective asana (posture) sequence and end with 20-30 minutes in yoga nidra (aka yoga sleep)- learning and practicing the art of deep, conscious relaxation. This class is suitable for all student levels. This class meets on Sunday mornings 11am -12:15pm.
